Traffic Simulations

Simulations of harbour traffic are carried out using well consolidated simulation tools based on the harbour layout and real / expected traffic data.

These simulations are usually carried out to support harbour design and can be integrated with manoeuvring simulations and simulations of loading/unloading operation.

Loading/unloading operations are simulated with a dedicated in-house software tool. The tool allows to evaluate loading /unloading times for given ship-plus-harbour configurations. The internal arrangements of the ship (decks, access ramps etc) and the characteristics of quay and storage areas in the harbour can be modelled in detail; the effect of changes in the ship arrangements and/or harbour layout on the efficiency of loading/unloading operations can be evaluated.
