Noise levels assessment

Comfort is a keyword in today's maritime business. The control of vibration and noise on board of cruise ships and ferries largely contributes to the comfort of passengers, that more and more ask for high standards of quiet on board. CETENA has a long experience in dealing with ship vibrations and noise, measurements on board being one of its most consolidated activities.

Radiated noise analyses can be also carried out numerically since the early design stage on through software tools, e.g.

• LMS.Sysnoise (BEM can be coupled to FEM for radiated noise prediction in the low frequency range)
• Autosea2 (computation of noise levels associated to middle/high frequency vibrations, based on a statistical-energetic approach)
