Propeller design
CETENA can perform propeller design with the support of in-house softwares PESPA (based on lifting line/lifting surface method) and PROPACE (based on potential flow theory); details of a design can be optimised with RANSE computations.
Depending on customer requirements, three subsequent design steps can be carried out:
step 1 - based on performance requirements, definition of propeller geometry with PESPA
step 2 - blade shape optimisation using PROPACE
step 3 - further optimisation using RANSE computations
Recent design experiences include bow thuster design and the design of a modular propeller.
