Thermographic surveys are non-invasive experimental investigations which can help solving a number of different problems.

They can be used to:

check temperatures (SOLAS verification)

find out failures

support maintenance procedures

check tank insulation

Recent experiences include an investigation of tank insulations on board a gas tanker to check for thermal leakages.
