Shock tests

Shock tests on ship components and machinery are carried out using CETENA's HIGH IMPACT FOR MEDIUM-WEIGHT EQUIPMENT installed in the Riva Trigoso workshop.

The machine is certified for testing according to:

  • MIL-S-901D (NAVY), Military Specification, shock tests, high impact shipboard machinery, equipment and systems
  • NAV-30-A001, Norme per l'esecuzione delle prove d'urto su macchinari ed apparecchiature di bordo
  • STANAG 4141, Shock testing of equipment for surface ships

The tests allow to:

  • evaluate shock effects on integrity and functionality of ship components and machinery
  • measure local acceleration levels
  • evaluate the Shock Response Spectrum
